Carol Leung established aehstudio - a non-profit making studio for arts, architecture, education and humanity in 2014. As an experienced architect and educator, she believes design education can nourish the society, not just in schools but also in design studio and practices. Being the founder of aehstudio, Carol seeks for an alternative design studio set up as compare to common Hong Kong architectural design offices whom used to see design projects as revenue generation tools might. Instead, Carol wishes to engage young architecture graduates or designers in aehstudio’s horizontal studio structure, where younger generation can initiate research, workshops and small scale architectural proposals. It is hoping that by bridging together experienced practitioners and young designers as a small design team on humanity projects, young designers can have more ownership and fair return, so that they can help to build our future city in a more resilient and sustainable way.
